Target Information

Porcine C-reactive protein (CRP) is an important acute-phase protein produced in response to inflammation and tissue injury. It plays a key role in the immune defense by promoting agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis, and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. Additionally, CRP can interact with DNA and histones, scavenging nuclear material released from damaged cells.
