Target Information

Porcine GATA binding protein 1 (GATA1) is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the development and function of the porcine hematopoietic system, particularly in the differentiation and maturation of erythroid cells. GATA1 is a member of the GATA family of transcription factors, which are characterized by their ability to bind to DNA sequences containing the "GATA" motif. This protein is essential for the proper expression of genes involved in erythropoiesis, the process by which red blood cells are produced. GATA1 also plays a role in the development of other blood cell lineages, including megakaryocytes and eosinophils, and has been implicated in the regulation of angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels.
