Target Information
Canine syntrophin alpha 1 (SNTA1) is a multifaceted protein involved in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton and intracellular signaling events. It serves as a scaffolding adaptor protein, integrating the actin cytoskeleton and internal signaling apparatus to the extracellular matrix via the Dystrophin Glycoprotein complex. SNTA1 plays a crucial role in orchestrating various signaling molecules into different cellular events, including the regulation of ion channels, ankyrin repeat-rich membrane spanning proteins, and G-proteins. Its expression has been correlated with colon cancer outcomes and identified as a potential marker for metastases or tumor progression in tongue squamous cell carcinomas.
