Target Information
Porcine protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type O (pPTPRO), also known as PTPRO or RPTPβ, is a receptor-type tyrosine phosphatase that plays a significant role in the regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation, a critical post-translational modification involved in various cellular signaling pathways. pPTPRO is expressed in a variety of tissues and is implicated in the control of cell growth, differentiation, and the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. This receptor-type phosphatase is known to interact with multiple signaling molecules, including receptor tyrosine kinases, and can modulate their activity by dephosphorylating tyrosine residues. In pigs, pPTPRO may be particularly important in the regulation of developmental processes, immune responses, and the overall health of the animal.
