Target Information

Porcine flotillin 2 (FLOT2) is a member of the flotillin family of proteins, which are integral components of membrane microdomains known as lipid rafts. These microdomains are crucial for various cellular processes, including signal transduction, membrane trafficking, and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. FLOT2 plays a significant role in the stabilization of cell membranes and the formation of plasma membrane protrusions, such as filopodia and lamellipodia, which are essential for cell migration and the establishment of cell-cell contacts. It also contributes to the internalization of proteins and the formation of endosomes, thereby influencing the cell's response to external signals.
