Target Information
Chicken tubulin polymerization promoting protein (TPPP), also known as p25, is a protein that plays a significant role in the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules, which are essential for maintaining cellular structure and function. TPPP is particularly important for regulating the dynamics of microtubules, which are involved in processes such as cell division, intracellular transport, and cell motility. TPPP interacts with tubulin to promote the formation and stabilization of microtubules. It has been shown to bind to and inhibit histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), an enzyme that deacetylates tubulin and leads to microtubule destabilization. By inhibiting HDAC6, TPPP promotes tubulin acetylation, which enhances microtubule stability and function.
