Target Information

Bone morphogenic protein 7 is encoded by the BMP7 gene in sheep and belongs to the BMP family of growth factors. This 35-kDa homodimeric protein is part of the TGF-β superfamily of cysteine knot cytokines. During embryonic development, BMP-7 is essential for proper kidney and eye formation.
