Target Information
Apolipoprotein A-IVis encoded by the APOA4 gene in pigs. It is a lipid-binding protein, which is primarily synthesized in the small intestine, packaged into chylomicrons, and secreted into intestinal lymph during fat absorption. It is predominantly synthesized in the small intestine, where it is packaged into chylomicrons and secreted into intestinal lymph during fat absorption. While most mammals, including humans, limit apo A-IV synthesis to the intestine, mice and rats exhibit hepatic synthesis as well.
