Target Information
D-aspartate oxidase (DDO) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction involving D-aspartate. D-aspartate oxidase belongs to the FAD-dependent oxidoreductase family. Specifically, it acts on the CH-NH2 group of donors, with oxygen as the acceptor. D-aspartate Oxidase is encoded by the DDO gene in pigs. It is a flavin-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of D-aspartate (D-Asp) to produce oxaloacetate, ammonia, and hydrogen peroxide.
