Target Information
Factor V, also known as proaccelerin or labile factor, is a protein within the coagulation system. Unlike most other coagulation factors, it is not enzymatically active but functions as a cofactor. Factor V plays a critical role in blood clotting by assisting in the conversion of prothrombin into thrombin. Coagulation Factor V is encoded by the F5 gene in pigs. It is a plasma protein essential for blood coagulation, and it is also involved in activated protein C resistance.
