Target Information

78 kDa Glucose-regulated Protein is encoded by the HSPA5 gene in pigs. Glucose-regulated protein of 78 kDa (GRP78) is the most abundant endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-resident chaperone. It interacts with luminal domains of the three signaling transducers, PERK (protein kinase R-like ER kinase), IRE1 (inositol-requiring enzyme 1), and ATF6 (activating transcriptional factor 6). GRP78 plays critical roles in the heart under both physiological and pathological conditions.
