Target Information

Adiponectin is an adipokine primarily secreted by adipocytes, playing a role in regulating reproductive functions in both males and females. The circulating levels of adiponectin are inversely related to body fat mass, and its biological effects are mainly mediated through two receptors, AdipoR1 and AdipoR2. In goats, adiponectin is encoded by the ADIPOQ gene.
