Specifications
Target Information
IRF1 is the first member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family to be identified. Initially known for activating the expression of the cytokine Interferon beta, IRF1 was later found to function as a transcriptional activator or repressor for various target genes. Interferon Regulatory Factor 1 is encoded by the IRF1 gene in pigs. IRF1 is an important transcription factor that is abundantly induced during viral infections and is involved in the host antiviral immune response. It may play a role in cellular antiviral responses against porcine viruses.
