Target Information
Hormone-Sensitive Lipase (HSL), also known as p23, Fortilin, and histamine-releasing factor, is a multifunctional enzyme encoded by the LIPE gene in pigs. HSL mediates triglyceride hydrolysis in adipocytes during a hormonally controlled process called lipolysis. It breaks down triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol. It plays a key role in mobilization of fatty acids by controlling the hydrolysis of triglycerides in adipose tissue.
