Target Information

Lipoprotein lipase (LPL), also known as triacylglycerol acylhydrolase (lipoprotein-dependent), belongs to the lipase gene family. It is a water-soluble enzyme that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. Lipoprotein Lipase is encoded by the LPL gene in pigs. It functions as an important enzyme in lipid metabolism that catalyses the hydrolysis of core triglycerides to yield a mixture of diglycerides, monoglycerides, and fatty acids.
