Target Information
Vitamin K-dependent protein C is encoded by the porcine PROC gene. It is structurally similar to other vitamin K-dependent proteins involved in blood clotting, such as prothrombin, Factor VII, Factor IX, and Factor X. It is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease that regulates blood coagulation by inactivating factors Va and VIIIa in the presence of calcium ions and phospholipids.
