Target Information

Saposin-B-Val is a small protein activator and co-factor for the enzyme N-acetyl-alpha-glucosaminidase (NAGLU), which is involved in lysosomal breakdown of specific sugar molecules. It is encoded by the PSAP gene in pigs. The PSAP gene is a highly conserved lysosomal protein involved in glycosphingolipid metabolism. One study supported PSAP as the most stable gene for normalizing target gene expression in porcine alveolar macrophages under various experimental conditions in PRRSV research.
