Target Information
Macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-1alpha is part of the MIP-1 CC chemokine subfamily, consisting of four members. Also known as CCL3, it is a chemotactic chemokine released by macrophages. MIP-1alpha plays several biological roles, including the recruitment of inflammatory cells, facilitating wound healing, inhibiting stem cells, and sustaining the effector immune response. The functions of MIP-1α in rabbits mainly include chemotaxis of immune cells, activation of immune cells, participation in inflammatory responses, and regulation of bone metabolism. These functions make it an important molecule for studying the immune system and inflammatory diseases.
