Target Information
Non-Secretory Ribonuclease (RNASE2), also known as Eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (EDN), is a protein with diverse biological activities. RNASE2 is a pyrimidine-specific nuclease with a slight preference for uridine (U). It acts as a cytotoxin and helminthotoxin. Non-Secretory Ribonuclease is encoded by the RNASE2 gene in pigs. RNASE2 cleaves RNA on the 3' side of uridine. It is known to be expressed in activated myeloid-derived mononuclear cells and eosinophils.
