Target Information
Platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1), also referred to as cluster of differentiation 31 (CD31), is a highly glycosylated protein. PECAM-1 serves as a cell-cell adhesion protein, interacting either homophilically with other PECAM-1 molecules or heterophilically with non-PECAM-1 molecules. It is predominantly found in vascular endothelial cells. The function of PECAM-1 in rabbits is similar to that of humans and is mainly involved in biological processes such as angiogenesis, inflammatory response, thrombosis, and cell migration. Research has demonstrated that PECAM-1 expression significantly decreases in New Zealand rabbits following paraquat poisoning, and this reduction is dose-dependent.
