Target Information
Aspergillosis is a sporadic fungal infection caused by various ubiquitous species of Aspergillus. Among them, Aspergillus terreus is known to infect certain animals, particularly dogs and cattle. Aspergillus terreus produces an enzyme called Blasticidin-S deaminase, which can catalyze the deamination of the cytosine moiety in antibiotics such as blasticidin S, cytomycin, and acetylblasticidin S.
