Target Information

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which is encoded by the IGF1 gene in cattle, shares structural similarities with insulin. It plays a pivotal role in childhood growth and exerts a anabolic effect in adults. Produced primarily by the liver, IGF-1's synthesis is stimulated by growth hormone (GH). Notably, it significantly influences bovine follicular growth, oocyte competence, and embryo viability.
