Target Information
The Bovine Parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related peptide receptor (PTH1R) is a key regulator of calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism in cattle. This G protein-coupled receptor mediates the actions of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP) by activating adenylyl cyclase and a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system . PTH1R plays a crucial role in bone resorption and formation, making it an important therapeutic target for conditions such as osteoporosis . Disruptions in PTH1R signaling can lead to metabolic bone diseases, emphasizing its importance in veterinary medicine and animal health .
