Target Information

Bovine S100 calcium binding protein A12 (S100A12) is a member of the S100 protein family, known for its calcium-binding ability and involvement in various cellular processes. In cattle, S100A12 is predominantly secreted by granulocytes and plays a significant role in the innate immune response. It contributes to inflammation and immune surveillance, often associated with conditions like mastitis. The protein's extracellular activities include acting as a chemoattractant and modulating intracellular signaling pathways, leading to cytokine production and oxidative stress responses. It's also been identified as a valuable serum inflammatory marker in Bovine health assessments.
