Target Information
Bovine tyrosinase (TYR) is a copper-containing enzyme that catalyzes the first two steps in the biosynthesis of melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of skin, hair, and eyes. It is also involved in the metabolism of certain drugs and toxins. In cattle, TYR plays a critical role in pigmentation and may have implications in the health of skin and coat.
