Target Information
Chicken bone morphogenetic protein 3 (BMP3) is a structurally divergent member of the BMP family that acts as a negative regulator of bone formation. It limits BMP signal transduction, thereby controlling osteogenesis and skeletal development. During chick limb development, BMP3 is expressed in the perichondrium and regulates bone growth by antagonizing other osteogenic BMPs.
