Target Information

Equine caveolin-1 (CAV1) is a key protein involved in the formation of caveolae, small invaginations in the plasma membrane that facilitate endocytosis and signal transduction. It plays a role in regulating cholesterol homeostasis and a variety of cell functions, including endocytosis, receptor internalization, and cell signaling. In horses, CAV1 is crucial for maintaining cellular processes and is implicated in the modulation of inflammation and immune responses, as well as potentially influencing lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis.
