Target Information
Equine interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a chemokine that primarily functions to attract and activate neutrophils, playing a crucial role in the inflammatory response. It is involved in directing the migration of neutrophils and other immune cells to sites of infection or tissue damage, promoting inflammation. IL-8 also induces phagocytosis in immune cells once they reach the site of inflammation. This chemokine is significant in the context of various diseases characterized by neutrophil infiltration, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.
