Target Information
Feline enteric coronavirus non-structural protein 7a (NSP7a) is an accessory protein encoded by the FCoV genome. It is involved in viral replication and pathogenesis, and may contribute to the virulence of feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV), a more pathogenic biotype of FCoV. In veterinary medicine, NSP7a is studied to understand the genetic diversity and pathogenic mechanisms of FCoV. It is also a potential target for diagnostic assays and antiviral strategies aimed at controlling FIP in cats.
