Target Information

Clostridioides difficile Toxin A (tcdA) itself does not have the ability to infect, but as part ofClostridioides difficile, this bacterium can indeed infect animals. In the veterinary field, Toxin A is an important cytotoxin that can damage intestinal epithelial cells, leading to intestinal inflammation and diarrhea. It binds to host cells and disrupts the cytoskeleton, causing cellular damage.
