Target Information

Feline herpesvirus 1 homologue of HSV-1 gG (FHV-1 gG) is a glycoprotein of FHV-1 that is homologous to HSV-1 gG. It plays a role in virus adsorption, penetration, and cell-to-cell spread. gG induces neutralizing antibodies in the host, which are important for preventing further viral infection. Due to its high immunogenicity, gG is considered a potential candidate for subunit vaccine development.
