Target Information
Influenza A virus subtype H2N2 (A/H2N2) is a variant of Influenza A virus. It has evolved into several strains, such as the "Asian flu" strain (now extinct in the wild), H3N2, and various avian strains. Hemaglutinin (HA) is the most prevalent glycoprotein on the surface of the influenza virus. HA facilitates viral entry by binding to receptors and mediating the fusion of the virus with the host's cellular membranes. The HA1 subunit, which contains a receptor binding site, facilitates the virus's attachment to specific sialyl sugar chains on the host cell surface.
