Target Information

Aleutian disease, caused by a parvovirus, was initially identified in mink during the 1940s. The disease is prevalent among both farmed and wild mink populations globally. The Aleutian disease virus (ADV) includes two capsid proteins, VP1 (85 kDa) and VP2 (75 kDa), both of which are translated from the same mRNA. The VP2 protein, being the principal capsid component, is capable of self-assembling into native-like capsids even in the absence of VP1.
