Target Information

Mouse Neurogenic-Locus-Notch-Homolog-Protein-3 (NOTCH3) is a receptor involved in cell-cell communication and fate determination. In mice, NOTCH3 regulates vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation and is implicated in vascular diseases such as cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy. NOTCH3 is expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells and interacts with ligands to regulate cell differentiation and proliferation. Its dysfunction leads to vascular remodeling and disease pathology.
