Target Information
Shigella primarily causes disease in primates and does not affect other mammals. Shigella flexneri is one of the species within the Shigella genus. Alongside Shigella sonnei, it accounts for 90% of shigellosis cases. Adenylate kinase catalyzes the reversible transfer of the terminal phosphate group between ATP and AMP. It plays an important role in cellular energy homeostasis and in adenine nucleotide metabolism.
