Target Information
Swine insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1 (IGFBP1) is a member of the IGF binding protein family that plays a role in regulating the bioavailability and activity of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). IGFBP1 is produced mainly by the liver and is involved in the regulation of insulin sensitivity, making it a significant factor in diabetes risk prediction. It also participates in the control of cell growth and metabolism by binding to IGFs, potentially modulating their effects on cell proliferation and differentiation. Moreover, IGFBP1 has been shown to have IGF-independent actions, such as activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, which is related to insulin signaling.
