Target Information

Interferon alpha is encoded by the sheep gene IFNA. IFNA is a member of the type I IFNs, which have pleiotropic functions. All type I IFNs bind to a specific cell surface receptor complex known as the IFN-α receptor (IFNAR). This receptor consists of two chains: IFNAR1 and IFNAR2. It can induce an antiviral state.

User Note

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10 mM PBS (pH 7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquote the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
