Target Information

Swine insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP2) is a protein that binds to insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), playing a role in regulating their bioavailability and activity. IGFBP2 can act both in an IGF-dependent manner, by modulating IGF signaling, and in an IGF-independent manner, by interacting with cell surface receptors and the extracellular matrix. It is involved in a variety of cellular processes including cell cycle regulation, insulin and glucose metabolism, and angiogenesis.
