Target Information
Swine monocyte differentiation antigen CD14 (CD14) in swine is a surface glycoprotein primarily expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It functions as a pattern recognition receptor, binding to bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and other pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), thereby initiating the innate immune response. CD14 is essential for the activation of downstream signaling pathways, leading to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection.
