Target Information

Swine platelet factor 4 (PF4) is a small chemokine that is stored in platelet alpha-granules and rapidly secreted upon activation. It is involved in coagulation, tissue repair, and innate immune response. PF4 neutralizes the effects of heparin on endothelial cells, thereby promoting coagulation, and also inhibits endothelial cell migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis. It is known to bind to growth factors like FGF and block VEGF signaling, playing a role in anti-angiogenic effects.
