Target Information
Trypanosoma cruzi is a species of parasitic euglenoids. Characteristically, trypanosomes invade the tissues of another organism and primarily feed on blood, although they can also consume lymph. The life cycle of Trypanosoma cruzi begins in an animal reservoir, which can include a variety of mammals, both wild and domestic, including humans. Trypanothione is the parasite analog of glutathione. Trypanothione reductase is the equivalent of glutathione reductase.
