Target Information

Leukotriene B4 (LTB4) is a leukotriene involved in inflammation. It is produced by leukocytes in response to inflammatory mediators and is able to induce adhesion and activation of leukocytes to the endothelium, allowing them to bind to the endothelium and enter the tissue. In a porcine model, research has shown that LTB4 is an important mediator of pulmonary dysfunction and transendothelial migration of neutrophils in LPS-induced acute lung injury.
