Target Information

Avian influenza (AI) viruses are categorized based on two protein groups: hemagglutinin ("H") proteins, numbering from H1 to H16, and neuraminidase ("N") proteins, ranging from N1 to N9. Various combinations of these "H" and "N" proteins exist. H5N2 is a subtype of Influenzavirus A, commonly known as the avian influenza or bird flu virus. This subtype affects a broad spectrum of birds such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, falcons, and ostriches. The H3N2 avian influenza virus is widespread among pigs in China and has also been detected in pigs in Vietnam, contributing to the emergence of new variant strains.
