Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator is a chloride channel protein located in the apical membrane of epithelial cells in various organs, including the lungs, pancreas, and intestines. CFTR regulates the flow of chloride ions across the cell membrane, influencing fluid secretion and other processes. It is encoded by the CFTR gene in bovine. It was suggested that CFTR expression could be instrumental in follicular enlargement.
