Target Information

Bovine Cytochrome P450 19A1 is encoded by the CYP19A1 gene in cattle. It is a crucial enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of estrogens. It catalyzes the conversion of androgens (such as testosterone) to estrogens (such as estradiol). Mutations in this gene can result in either increased or decreased aromatase activity, affecting estrogen levels and associated phenotypes. The CYP19A1 gene contributes to genetic variation of in vitro embryo production traits in cattle.
