Target Information

Gelsolin is an actin-binding protein that plays a crucial role in regulating actin filament assembly and disassembly. It is composed of six "gelsolin domains", each containing a 5-6 strand β-sheet between one long and one short α-helix. Bovine Gelsolin is encoded by the GSN gene in cattle. It belongs to the actin-binding proteins and controls the gel-sol transformation of actin.
