Target Information
Bovine Histidyl-tRNA synthetase 1 is encoded by the HARS1 gene in cattle. HARS1 catalyzes the covalent ligation of histidine to its cognate transfer RNA (tRNA). This process occurs as an early step in protein biosynthesis. HARS1 ensures that the correct amino acid (histidine) is attached to its corresponding tRNA before it's transported to the ribosome for protein synthesis. HARS1 shares a bidirectional promoter with another gene called HARS2 (also known as HO3). These two genes are oriented in a head-to-head configuration.
