Target Information
Myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate is a protein involved in regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell signaling. MARCKS is a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) and undergoes phosphorylation, influencing its interaction with other proteins and affecting various cellular processes. It is encoded by the bovine gene MARCKS. Bovine corpus luteum contains a MARCKS protein known to cross-link actin filaments in the cytoskeletal cortex associated with the plasma membrane.
