Target Information
β-Lactoglobulin (BLG) is the major whey protein of cow and sheep's milk. Its amino acid sequence and 3-dimensional structure show that it is a lipocalin, a very diverse family, most of which bind small hydrophobic ligands and can thus act as specific transporters. Due to its abundance and ease of purification, β-lactoglobulin is of interest to the food industry. Its properties can be advantageous or disadvantageous in dairy products and processing.
Shipping and Storage
Store at -20°C or -80°C for up to 6 months. The lyophilized form has a shelf life of up to 12 months at -20°C or -80°C. This product is shipped with gel ice packs. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
