Target Information
Equine amphiregulin is an epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like molecule that belongs to the EGF family. It serves as an autocrine growth factor and a mitogen for various cell types, including astrocytes, Schwann cells, and fibroblasts. Amphiregulin plays a crucial role in regulating cell proliferation, apoptosis, and migration by binding to the EGFR, which in turn activates intracellular signaling pathways. It is physiologically important in lung morphogenesis and the development and maturation of mammary glands, bone tissue, and oocytes. Additionally, Amphiregulin is critical for restoring tissue integrity following infection or injury.
